The A-line silhouette style and large waistband make it easy to dress up and the extra stretch makes it great for moving about town. 3) Patagonia Seabrook Skirt
I was super sad to not see my all-time favorite travel skirt, the Patagonia Vitaliti Skirt in the offerings from Patagonia this Spring. The Vitaliti has been my trusty travel companion for years and I’m hoping the Patagonia Seabrook Skirt can step up and take the place of my beloved Vitaliti.
Made from recycled polyester and a touch of spandex, the Seabrook is incredibly soft with plenty of stretch for all of your favorite active adventures. The wide waistband, slight A-line shape, 6-panel design makes for a very flattering and slimming look yet does not cling one bit! Built-in UPF protection, quick drying and eco-friendly fabric, and a great look is sure to make this one of my new favorite travel skirts.

4) Patagonia Kamala Maxi Skirt
The Patagonia Women’s Kamala Maxi Skirt is a simple and flattering long travel skirt plus it easily converts to a bandeau-style dress – the doubled waistband becomes the bodice and the ties secure behind the neck. The Kamala is perfect for jaunts to the market or museum yet dresses up well for an evening out. The ankle skimming length is perfect for locales where a more modest attire is preferred. The Kamala skirt is made from an incredibly lightweight organic cotton/TENCEL blend with a hint of spandex and resists wrinkles – just give it a little shake after pulling it out from the bottom of your pack and you are good to go!

Made with ExOfficio’s dri-release fabric that wicks moisture and dries 4 times faster than cotton, the GoTo Skirt will keep you cool and comfortable during your travels. The quick drying fabric makes the skirt ideal for sink washes and the odor resistant FreshGuard treatment eliminates odors and keeps you fresh in case you have to go a few days without a shower.

6) Patagonia Happy Hike Skort
More on the sporty side of the travel skirt spectrum, the Patagonia Happy Hike Skort is designed for running and hiking adventures yet dresses up nicely with a cute top and strappy sandals. The lightweight, breathable, and eco-friendly fabric allows you full-range of motion plus it looks cute too. The DRW treated fabric repels water to keep you dry and comfy in all sorts of weather and a hideaway rear pocket stashes your room key. Available in a variety of colors, the Happy Hike Short will help you look styling on your favorite running route and hit up brunch afterwards without necessitating a wardrobe change.

7) More Travel Skirts to Try
Here are a few new gorgeous looking travel skirts that I am dying to try out in 2016 and will add a review as soon as I get to thoroughly test them out!
I like your advice and the skirts are great but would appreciate ideas for older women who don’t want the above the knee look. I am 65, have to be conservative in Africa. just below the knee would be perfect.
Great point! I am going to update the post and add some more conservative options!
Macabi makes a long travle skirt with deep pockets and a zippered pocket.
Thanks Heidi! I will have to check out Macabi’s travel skirts!
Hi
Was just wondering what what long skirt do you recommend?
I am traveling around in India. It will be hot, so I need something light weight, quick dry, with pockets and to my ankles?
Would love to hear if there is such a thing?….And is it cute on 🙂
Oh gosh sorry Jennifer I didn’t see your question until now. Hope you found a great skirt for India. Which did you choose? The new Toad & Co Chakalaka seems like it would be perfect! http://www.toadandco.com/womens/skirts/chakalaka-skirt/t1842301/359/
Hi! I realize this is an older post but I’m curious if you got a chance to try the Patagonia Seabrook skirt and what your thoughts were? The much loved Vitalili skirt was discontinued. It can be found, but I’m not sure if I should track one down or go with the newer skirt. Thoughts? I’m looking for something that will be comfortable for day hiking and weekend camping. I find skirts are just more flexible and comfortable. Nothing hardcore or backcountry. Some hike in, but the car’s never too far. 🙂 Many thanks!!
Well actually I just purchased one! I was still hoping the Vitaliti would show up on the Patagonia site; I don’t know how they could discontinue that skirt 🙁
The Seabrook is a bit more flowy and longer than the Vitaliti, but I’m pretty sure it will be my new favorite and perform as well as the Vitaliti. I do really love the Toad & Co Chaka skirt for car camping too. Either one are great options!
Thanks so much for your input Amiee! I’m 5″6′ so the extra length probably won’t bother me. I found the Vitalili in black at a price too hard to resist, but I like the Seabrook in the new blue. Both? 😉 We are gearing up for several trips in the next couple of months, as well as some day hikes, and I’m really excited. Skorts are just too much to work around. I also have several T&Co dresses and just love them.
