Icebreaker Women’s Rush Tights Review

December 5, 2014 by Amiee

These tights feel like butter! The Icebreaker Women’s Rush Tight’s merino wool, nylon, Lycra blend is so soft and smooth and actually mold to my body – I feel like I am running naked. Well warm naked.

Since wool is naturally odor-resistant, wicking, and breathable these tights regulate your body temperature to prevent overheating plus they dry incredibly fast.

Wearing the Rush Tights at the Crowbar Backcountry Race

The Rush Tights have kept me warm and comfy on 20-degree mountain runs (and backcountry skis down into the single digits) and they’ve made a nice baselayer under my cords on a cold camping trip. I wore them on a 40-degree run up a 2,000 foot peak and was WAY too warm, although they did keep me dry and I didn’t freeze on the descent.

On their first major run, I spent over an hour bushwacking through a canyon and didn’t even end up with a snag thank goodness. These tights were way too expensive to get a hole in them on their first run.

The back ankle zips are reflective, which is great for night running and the back zippered stash pocket is large enough for keys and a gel.

Only downfall is the price, but you do get what you pay for and every Icebreaker product I’ve owned has lasted forever and performs amazingly – the Icebreaker Hipkini Underwear just may be my favorite gear item I’ve ever owned!

The Details:

  • Slim fit
  • 39% merino wool, 45% nylon, 3% Lycra (260 midweight)
  • Naturally odor-resistant, naturally wicking, breathable
  • Secure zippered stash pocket below waistband
  • Reflective back ankle zips for added night visibility

Where Do I Find Them?

  • Amazon

    Hello Amiee,
As an Icebreaker addict I only have one quality to add to this review. Wool isolates even when it is wet!
