I’ve decided to turn Monday Motivation into Monday Mojo mostly because “mojo” just sounds more fun! I’ve been having some trouble finding my running mojo so this Ultrarunner podcast on Mojo, Motivation, and Burnout was a timely listen.
This past week I went to the live taping of Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me in Salt Lake City, which was pretty much a dream come true and the best ab workout on the planet. Seriously, my face still hurts from smiling so much. Still amazed at how they cut two plus hours of hilarity into a 50-minute episode.
Speaking of Wait Wait, host Peter Sagal was interviewed last week on the Sporkful Podcast and it was one of my favorite listens of the year. I’ve never actually heard of the Sporkful prior, but it is a podcast for eaters, not foodies. Peter discussed his divorce and how it changed the way that he eats. My favorite part was when he reflected on some advice a friend once gave him, which is now my favorite one-line thought to live by ever “… evaluate every potential experience in terms of its future anecdotal value.” Evaluating every possible adventure by its story producing potential is sure to bring about a life well lived.
Enough with the podcasts, think I found my new sport and trying to figure out a way to run around this, this summer. Also, home exchange, has anyone tried it? I want to go everywhere!
