Oiselle Women’s Winona Running Tank Review

May 6, 2014 by Amiee

After reading all the hoopla surrounding Kara Goucher’s leaving Nike to join Oiselle, I immediately went to Amazon and ordered a few Oiselle items to show my support of the small women’s running apparel company’s willingness to support such a stellar athlete. Oiselle has always been a strong supporter of local elite women athletes, but for a small company to nab such a high profiOiselle Winona Running Tankle athlete surely says something about the awesomeness of the brand. I needed to try out their clothing firsthand!

I can’t think of a better way to break in this tank than wearing it for five consecutive days during my latest Southern Utah backpacking adventure. The Oiselle Winona tank felt so soft and delicate out of the package that I was a little hesitant to wear it for anything more than a walk to the coffee shop. I am notoriously hard on clothing and gear and this tank was just too cute.

Well I broke in the Winona tank on a 10-mile run in 80 degree Moab and was oh so happy with the tank’s softness (seriously feels like you are wearing nothing!) and moisture-wicking ability (I was sweating like a pig and the tank was neither drenched nor clinging uncomfortably). No rubbing, no chafing, no nothing!

I then proceeded to wear the tank the next four days while toting a 30-pound pack through Utah’s Cedar Mesa snagging it on sagebrush and the like and can happily report that the tank still looks as good as new. I was surprised that a tank so soft and comfy could resist a four-day beating. I can also say that the tank resisted odors quite nicely or perhaps I couldn’t smell myself anymore after five days.

Utah’s Cedar Mesa – Wow!

The Oiselle Women’s Running tank is hands-down my new favorite running top. If it didn’t cost 48 bucks a pop, I would buy it in every single color. The website description says it is extra long, but as a rather petite 5’2″ woman I didn’t find the XS size too long. The tank has no built-in bra so it pairs nicely with the Icebreaker Sprite Racerback Bra.

The Details:

  • Made from super soft 89% brushed polyester and 11% spandex for stretch
  • Below hip length fit
  • Fitted, but not skin tight
  • Not just for running, great for any workout or travel
  • No built-in bra
  • Cute stitched design and available in many cute colors
  • Looks great with Oiselle Roga Running Shorts
