Patagonia Seabrook Skirt Review

April 13, 2016 by Amiee

Patagonia Women's Seabrook Skirt Front and Back

I was heartbroken to not see my beloved Patagonia Vitaliti Skirt in the offerings from Patagonia this Spring. The Vitaliti has been my trusty companion through more hiking adventures than I can count for the last 10 years and the last Vitaliti I purchased was getting worn and I was in need of a new one. I get unusually attached to clothing so you can imagine my sadness when I found out the skirt had been discontinued.

My Vitaliti still has some life left in her, but I decided that the mature thing to do would be to start moving on so I purchased the Patagonia Seabrook which appears to be the next closest thing.

Patagonia Seabrook Travel Skirt in Green

The Seabrook in Supply Green

The first thing I noticed about the Patagonia Seabrook was how unbelievably soft it is. Made from wrinkle-resisting, quick-drying 100% recycled polyester with 11% spandex for stretch, the skirt is ridiculously comfy with plenty of stretch for cruising around town on your commuter bike or hitting a short hike after work. The Seabrook combines a wide, body-slimming waistband and a 6-panel design with flat-seam construction and a slight A-line shape for a flattering look.

The XS fits my ~108 pound, 5’2″ frame perfectly, but my only complaint is that the skirt sits just below the knee on me when it is advertised as above-the-knee length. I would like the fit to be just a tad slimmer, but I guess that is what I get for being teeny weeny!

The Seabrook is available in blue, gray, green, and a light purple. Other neat-o facts are that the skirt offers 50+ UPF sun protection and is bluesign approved meaning the fabric “offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.”

For now, I’ve only tested out the skirt to work and around town so I can’t mention much about its functionality and durability as a camping/hiking/adventuring/travel skirt. I will update this post as time goes on and hopefully add some photos of the skirt having some fantastic adventures. I’m sure, with time and wear, the Patagonia Seabrook will become one of my new favorite travel skirts.

The Details:

  • Super soft 89% recycled polyester/11% spandex jersey knit with 50+ UPF sun protection.
  • Fabric is bluesign® approved
  • Wide flat-seamed waistband stays in place without bunching or twisting
  • 6-panel skirt with flat-seam construction and a slight A-line shape
  • Above-the-knee length
  • Lighweight at 178 g (6.3 oz)

Where to Buy the Patagonia Seabrook:
