The Barkley Marathons: The Race That Eats Its Young (Film)

February 2, 2016 by Amiee

I watched the Barkley Marathons documentary over the weekend and it was fantastic! The film was so well done, the storytelling entertaining, and the cast of zany characters hilarious!

For those unfamiliar, the Barkley Marathon is a hundred mile run held annually in Frozen Head State Park in Tennessee. In its 30 years of running, there had only been 16 finishers and no woman has ever finished. The “fun run” is completing 3 laps (60 miles) of the course and is considered harder than Colorado’s HardRock 100.

What makes it so difficult?
You’ll just have to watch the documentary to find out!

Rent or buy it on AMAZON. I highly recommend it!
