“Total Solar Eclipses occur somewhere on Earth every two years, or so. So just calm yourself when people tell you they’re rare,” ~Neil deGrasse Tyson
They are calling it the eclipsolypse. Grocery stars near the line of totality had run out of food days before the eclipse and people are panicking about gasoline shortages. And of course various evangelist groups are heralding this is a sign of impending apocalypse and what cracks me up most about this is that SCIENCE is used to predict eclipses and these are the same people that deny the existence of SCIENCE on any other day. How come no one is denying existence of eclipse?
Radiowest’s American Eclipse was a fantastic listen. I called my eclipse viewing partner after listening and told her how viewing the eclipse will utterly change out life to which she said calm down and don’t have too many expectations. But seriously I can’t wait. What other time can you view the sun with your naked eye and see space towards the sun? We’ll get to see stars in the middle of the day!
This person says eclipses are better viewed in a crowd. We will see. We haven’t exactly decided where we’ll be for the big event, perhaps we will end up at my favorite place in the world, the Lander Bar 🙂
